Kentucky Horse Farms For Sale

In The Sentinel-News newspaper today October 19 2007, there was an article regarding a change for one of the local equestrian communities in Louisville Kentucky.

On Tuesday at the Shelby County Triple S Planning and Zoning Commission regularly scheduled meeting, there were a lot of residents from the Majestic Oaks Equestrian Estates community in Simpsonville.

The Majestic Oaks Equestrian Estates developers proposal was to subdivide a 25 acre tract into 5 new lots for the subdivision. This would be a deviation from the equestrian gated communities development plan, particularly its landscaping regulations which states in part that all homeowners would have access to the the subdivision’s equine riding trails.

The president of the Majestic Oaks Equestrian Estates Homeowner Association, Jeff Rein, stated that he paid extra to be a part of an equestrian community because of the riding trails and contended that property values may suffer if the developer was allowed to violate the master plan for the development.

The Triple S Planning and Zoning Commission urged the developer and the concerned residents to try to resolve their issues with each other, but the developers maintained their resolve and desire to split the real estate into 5 new lots.

The Triple S Planning and Zoning Commission acknowledged that the developer had complied with all of the requirements of the county’s subdivision regulations of which they must abide. And as a result, the commission unanimously voted to approve the creation of the new lots.

The Triple S Planning and Zoning Commission attorney, Vic Brizendine stated, “We plan the county. We don’t plan subdivisions. It’s not up to us to referee your problems. And apparently you have problems.”.

Hopefully the developers will incorporate their design in keeping with the rest of the Majestic Oaks equine community in Simpsonville.
