The Shelbyville KY newspaper, The Sentinel-News, wrote an article in
the Wednesday January 23 2008 edition about scholarship opportunities
being made available by Farm Credit Services of Mid-America. This
company is a $13 billion organization that does various farms programs
lending and serves Kentucky, as well as Ohio, Indiana, and Tennessee.
This year, they are making $36000 available to its members, their children/dependents, and their spouses that are a part of Farm Credit Services, and that are studying agriculture or business at 4 year colleges and universities. 18 scholarships worth $2000 each will be given to those students that qualify based on their academic record, leadership traits, and support within their community.
This is an important giving back effort being made - as it helps ensure that Kentucky farms will be kept up to date by the next generation with information, technology, and education.
For anyone that is interested in applying, the scholarship application deadline is February 29 2008. The awarding of those 18 scholarships will be in May 2008, for use in the 2008 to 2009 school year. For more information, or to get an application, please call 502-633-1420, or 1-800-880-1420.
Good luck to all of the KY Farms Credit Services scholarship applicants!
